Large bumps of roving mill-processed with our Icelandic sheep wool. The roving is 1 - 1 1/2” wide, perfect for drafting while hand spinning.
Our Icelandic flock lives their best life in Minnesota on restored prairie grass. Their fleece is dual-coated, with the outer fibers (tog) being a different color from their under fiber (thel). When the fibers are combed together to make roving, it results in two-toned, softly blended colors. For example, our heather charcoal comes from a black and gray sheep and our heather brown comes from a brown and white sheep.
Icelandic roving is wonderful for needle felting, wet felting, weaving, and hand-spinning. It also dyes well.
Select from various weights of bumps, ranging from 5-8 oz each. Priced at $4/ounce.
Note: If you have purchased roving from our farm before 2024, please note that this roving is thinner than previous years due to a change in our processing mill.
The wool is carefully packaged and shipped in a cardboard box.
